Welcome to The Shepherd Fund. We care for children in Kenya! Our name is a reflection of our Good Shepherd, Jesus, who sought the least and the lost. His loving intention that none be left behind drives our work.

In cooperation with Anglican ministries in Nairobi and Kitui, Kenya The Shepherd Fund cares for orphans through Jehovah Jireh Orphanage in Nairobi and St. Luke’s Home for Blind Children in Kitui. Scroll down to read more about these special places. We invite you to join us in caring for the children. Though we work with Anglican ministries, The Shepherd Fund is open to all who care about children and want to give them a chance at a better life.

St. Luke’s Home for Blind Children

St. Luke’s is located in Kitui, a small town outside Nairobi. The schools in Kitui are the only ones in Kenya that accommodate blind and partially sighted children in their classrooms. For this reason these children come from all over Kenya to receive an education, the foundation for a better life. St. Luke’s provides housing, meals and care for these children. The fees charged to families don’t begin to cover the expenses for boarding the children and providing for their education.

St. Luke’s is a ministry of the Kitui Diocese of the Anglican Church and falls under the authority of the Bishop of Kitui. The Diocese doesn’t have sufficient financial resources to fully fund the work of St. Luke’s. The Shepherd Fund provides support as donations allow. Your gifts play an important role in caring for the blind and partially sighted children of St. Luke’s.

Donate

Your generosity makes a difference in the lives of children. Just $40 per month cares for a child. A gift of $65 per month provides food for all the children at Jehovah Jireh or St. Luke’s. Support the staff on a monthly basis for just $150 per month. Of course, your one time gift of any size provides for the ongoing work in Kenya wherever most needed.
